ASB Students Help Beautify McCleary
Every year the Mc Cleary Chamber coordinates the city wide beautification project. Usually it consists of just the beautiful flower baskets that adorn our light posts. This year, we were contacted by Zachary Holcomb, the President of Mc Cleary scholol ASB, informing us that they wanted to participate in our project. Instead of money, we agreed that they would help us on a specific project. The Chamber decided that we needed to do something with the empty spaces where trees use to be in front of the businesses on Main Street. Cindy Peabody, owner of Peabody"s Paradise Pizza and Chamber Treasurer coordinated the project, we had the planter boxes built, chamber member stained the boxes, Brad Lott and and Tammy Noffsinger input and ideas on the projected helped us more than they even know. Dan and Al Schoch of Monte Topsoil & Supply and Dan's Trucking donated the dirt we needed and even delivered it. Brysen Huff hauled gravel for us and filled all the boxes for us. Sherry Huff, our Postmaster and Chamber Secretary, bought all the plants to fill the planter boxes from the Elma FFA Greenhouse, and Bethany Ferrier, ASB Advisor, and Pauline Martin, owner of Mc Cleary Subway and Chamber President, coordinated and supervised the planting party which took place on Tuesday, June 7th. The students did a great job! We really appreciate their help on this and we look forward to partnering with them again.
